Academics

Since our founding in 1979, the Rho Alpha chapter has been a leader on campus, and our members have gone on to become leaders around the world. Even in today's rapidly changing world, our close-knit brotherhood continues to grow and thrive.

As an organization, we are committed to the academic and professional development of our members. Tech, finance, law, medicine, military - no matter the topic, the diverse interests of our undergraduates, and the equally diverse accomplishments of our alumni, provide mentorship and guidance to anyone who stands to benefit.

Social Events

Although academic and professional development is important to us, we know that there is more to life than building a résumé. With events ranging from private cocktail parties and black-tie formals, to a night-club style blowout and a relaxed after-party with close friends, our Social program is among Cambridge's best, regularly attracting crowds from across the entire Boston student community.

Health and Wellness

Above all, our organization values the health and wellness of our members and of the communities around us. Many of our members are leaders in the athletic, military, and emergency medical communities at MIT, and we are always keeping up with the latest trainings in mental health, violence prevention, and risk management.

233 Massachusetts Ave

All of this activity is centered at the house at 233 Massachusetts Avenue. Originally a state-of-the-art industrial facility serving America's needs in World Wars I and II, 233 Mass. now serves as spacious and well-maintained Institute Approved Housing for our chapter.

Boasting the largest footprint of any Institute Approve Housing facility, our house hosts a professional kitchen and bar, a billiards room, a workout room, a wood shop, a sound-proofed theater, and dedicated study spaces, with plenty of room remaining for general-use commons spaces.

Between our own amenities and those offered by nearby MIT, Kendall Square, Central Square, and Harvard Square, our house is a great place to call home.
